Presence of Christmas in advance: new Christmas songs unveiled

Here’s a look at the new Christmas tunes hitting the radio airwaves in a month.

At the end of October, Love & the Outcome released a new holiday single called “Christmas Lights”.

“It will be a different Christmas for many of us this year. With not being home and the loss we have all experienced, we needed a song to remind us that there is still something something to celebrate!” says the couple who make up Love & the Outcome on their Facebook page.

Stars Go Dim features Hannah Ellis on a new Christmas single titled “Home”. As you might expect, the song is about spending time with family at home.

“I wrote this right after moving to Tennessee about coming home for Christmas. This is the real story of what home is like and how we go back every year,” says Stars Go Dim on Facebook.

For the first time, Jordan St.Cyr releases two new Christmas singles.

“‘Messiah’, originally sung by Francesca Battistelli, captures the anticipation of Jesus’ birth in such a special and powerful way. Singing this song has been such a blessing to me and I pray for you as we we’re heading into this Christmas season,” St. Cyr says on his social media.

The second song, an original written and sung by St.Cyr, is called “Rejoice” and will be released on November 5.

CAIN just released a six song EP titled Marvellous. The single “Wonderful” was co-written with Steven Curtis Chapman and also features him. “Christmas Is Coming” with Mac Powell, who co-wrote the single, is also included.

“Our parents taught us three things: to love Jesus, to love each other and to love Christmas. It was more than a holiday for us,” the trio said in a chat with The Christian Beat.

Matthew West released a whole Christmas album, we need christmas.

“The past two years have felt like peace is rare, hope has been hard to find, and love and joy have been lost for so many,” West says on Facebook. “Christmas is a time when our hearts can be powerfully reminded that the peace, hope, love and joy we all need can still be found in a saviour.”

Rhett Walker’s new single is a rendition of “All I Want For Christmas Is You” and is an ode to his wife.

“This year, my wedding anniversary marked that I was married to April for half my life,” Walker said. “So I sat there thinking about all that Christ has done in our marriage. Not everyone has a moment of teenage pregnancy like we do…but everyone has that moment when left alone to ourselves is destruction. So, I wanted to cover a song for all the marriages and relationships that have put God first and thank God for their special loved one.”

Leanna Crawford also released a rendition of Amy Grant’s “Breath of Heaven (Mary’s Song)”.

“Hope you like it!! Thanks to QUEEN Amy Grant for writing such an amazing song,” Crawford posted on Facebook.

Hoping to breathe new life into a Christmas classic, Jordan Smith releases his version of “O Come (Let Us Adore)”.

Point of Grace releases their fourth Christmas album in two decades of CCM release, called Sing Christmas.

“We never could have guessed that it would play such a significant role in and throughout our career thus far. Because so many of these songs express the foundation of our beliefs – God so loved the world that He gave us Jesus – we consider being ‘known’ for our Christmas music quite an honour,” the three women said in an interview.
