Audience members are sure to be enlightened by this young cast’s portrayal of the musical “Godspell” at upcoming performances at Crookston High School where messages of kindness are sprinkled throughout the production.
The series of stories or “parables” offer teachings through song and dance by none other than “Jesus Christ” himself. Messages such as “Forgive your brothers with all your heart”, “Love your enemy and pray for your persecutor”, “No one can serve God and money”, and “Do not judge and you will not be judged” do not are just some of the lessons the audience learns as they travel the winding road with the musical’s characters.
In the second act, the show re-enacts Jesus’ betrayal and he is ultimately crucified, letting viewers relive everything he attempted to teach his disciples in the first act.
If you’ve never seen this musical before, now is the time to catch one of the CHS shows. It, like all of their others, does not disappoint.
Performances will take place on April 8, 9 and 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the CHS Auditorium. Tickets are available at the door and cost $8 for adults and $5 for students.
