For this edition of Crosstalk, Jim was streaming live from the 2022 Christian Home Educators of Wisconsin conference, which was taking place in Wisconsin Dells.

The first guest to sit down with Jim was Amy Buchmeyer. Amy is an attorney with the Home School Legal Defense Association and serves as a contact attorney for 13 states.

This conversation briefly touched on home schooling requirements in states like Wisconsin, dispelling misconceptions surrounding home schooling and some of the common questions parents have about becoming involved in home schooling. .

Second on the role was Carl Kerby. Carl is President and Founder of Reasons for Hope. Prior to forming Reasons for Hope, he was a founding board member of Answers in Genesis and served there for 15 years. Carl is also a former air traffic controller at Chicago-O’Hare. He is co-creator and host of the video series, Mass Instruction Weapons and presenter of the teen DVD series, Tear down the fortresses and presenter on become bold DVD series for teens and adults. He is the author of numerous books including his latest publication, Did Jesus Commit Suicide: And 27 Other Questions. He is the producer of a series of videos titled, Debunked.

Carl defined exactly what apologetics is, what causes some young people to stray from the faith, what parents can do to equip their tweens and teens and more.

Next was Israel Wayne. He is the founder and director of Family Renewal as well as an author and speaker. He and his wife are raising their eleven children in southwestern Michigan. He is the author of numerous books including Homeschooling from a biblical worldview, Parenting Full Time: A Guide to Family-Based Discipleship and others.

Israel explained how he manages to take good care of 11 children, what he recommends regarding fulfilling your other responsibilities while homeschooling, the main issues he hears regarding parenting and others .

The last guest was Julaine Appling. She is the president of the Wisconsin Family Council.

Julaine shared her biggest concerns around education, why marriage and gender are under attack today, and if our current social trends can be countered.
