Brookwood hires Cook as graduate school principal | Education


THOMASVILLE – Brookwood School has announced the hiring of Bill Cook as the new high school principal, effective June 2022.

“The position at Brookwood immediately caught my eye, as I attended a community-focused school growing up and I believe my talents and passions are best suited to this type of school culture and environment,” explained Cook. “The family environment and welcoming atmosphere are things that first attracted me to Brookwood and convinced me to be part of the Brookwood family.”

Cook’s original profession was engineering. He has worked for Exxon as well as ENCOM Associates, of which he was president and owner.

In 2010, he made the transition to teaching at North Raleigh Christian Academy, where he worked for over a decade. He was a middle school science teacher and secondary school vice-principal. He has also coached several sports, including baseball and football as a head coach, and basketball, softball and strength as an assistant.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania. He also holds several certifications, including Principal of Secondary – Association of Christian Schools International, ACSI Leadership University, ACSI Reach 2.1 Accreditation Committee Member, and Colson Fellows Program.

“I am thrilled to have Bill Cook join us at Brookwood as our next graduate school principal,” said Principal Dr. Randy Watts. “He is an exceptional leader and will help guide our high school effectively. business. His engineering background will be an asset as we think strategically about our future. During his visits to Brookwood, he immediately formed strong relationships; it is evident that he cares about the students, faculty, and community. he will be an exceptional teammate.

Cook will move to Thomasville with his wife Cathy, who is also a teacher and will assist the women’s basketball team. They have two adult children, John and Katy.
